What is Lead?

Where does Lead come from?

containing lead begin to corrode. A chemical reaction between water and your plumbing system causes the metal to wear away, leaching lead into your water supply. The severity of this reaction is dependent on a few factors including:

• The acidity or alkalinity of your water
• The amount of wear in the pipes
• The temperature of the water / how long it stays in your plumbing system
• The presence of protective coatings in the plumbing system
